The Southwest by RV: 10 days of national parks from Las Vegas

The classic loop through the canyons of the Southwest – as a round trip from Las Vegas, where almost every major rental company has a station: Hoover Dam and Valley of Fire, then Zion and Bryce Canyon in Utah, Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon near Page, Monument Valley and the Grand Canyon. The way back follows Route 66 through Seligman and Hackberry.
Pickup on the afternoon of day one (after a hotel night in Las Vegas), return on the morning of the last day. Nights are spent at national park and federal campgrounds – book the popular ones such as Zion and the Grand Canyon early on recreation.gov; in Kingman at one of the private RV parks. Best in spring and autumn; summer is hot.
