Good to know

  • Morning and late afternoon give soft light; at midday hard shadows fall across the beds.
  • Timing is everything: desert gardens bloom in March and April, rose gardens in June, maples turn in October.
  • Many gardens have a glasshouse – the rescue on rainy days and in winter.
